It's that time of year, especially with the cute little storm that hit yesterday - puddle season!
With that comes certain... obligations.
Yes mom, those twenty-seven puddles on the way home were completely unavoidable!
There's something about fall and jumping into things...
The only thing comparable to the childish glory of puddle whomping is the activity made famous by my favorite Bill Watterson collection, referenced in Yesterday's Post.
The only way to draw a line between the two fall-tastic joys is at cleanup.
When you puddle whomp, you just come home through the garage and strip your wet, possibly muddy exterior off and toss it in the wash, hopefully followed by sudsy warm goodness in the shower.
Win-Win-Win
Leaf pulverizing is less victorious once you're done flopping around.
Unless you brush off really, really well, you end up bringing leaf-herpes in, as we all remember from the beginning of this month in my fond aspirations for Autumn. Plus, you have to rake up or leaf-blower the mess into containment again once it's over.
