Life has not been so easy for our fellow humans lately.

First, the Philippines were struck by Typhoon Yolanda.

Reddit, as usual, has some well researched sources for information, and how to help, found in r/Philippines.

Second, our own United States has seen disaster with a late season tornado outbreak.

As this has just happened, there's limited resources on assistance, however this thread has some information, and I will update with newer sources.

In the light of two terrible natural disasters, my knee-jerk reaction is to take stock of the "basic" blessings.
