Lalallalalalalala

Comments sections are great for input, and with certain websites you have a good idea what they'll say before you even get there. Unfortunately with both the anonymity and tendency to bandwagon on the internet, there's often a congregation of like-minded people, which often oppresses rationality or outside opinions. That's not to say these commenters are wrong, it's just that they handle their opinions in a non-constructive way, fleeing to a corner of the internet where all they hear is, "Yes you're right."

Where's the discourse?
On pages like that - usually politically or religiously geared - you can't get a word in edgewise. On top of that, many comments end up being uninformed or emotionally based, which are just frustrating to read. So, in cases when I find myself on those kinds of pages, I'll often opt out of reading the comments section.
