I'm not sure if irony is the correct term for this, but I was going to write about my borderline insomnia tonight, and feel almost too tired to do it.
I wouldn't say it's from a lack of sleep. It's more from an abundance of pain. Husband and I drove to Valencia today to see another doctor about my knee injury. Of course they had to poke, prod, and x-ray everything while I twisted into pretzel positions. And certainly not the fun, sexy pretzel.
But enough about my trials and tribulations, we're here to talk sleepytimes!
How long does it take you to fall asleep?
It takes me FOREVER.
Not literally forever, as I do actually go to sleep after many hours of laying in bed.
I generally don't need a lot of sleep. It drives Husband crazy, because I can be up on Twitter at 2am, rest, and be up cooking breakfast at 7. Normally I sleep an average of 4-6 hours per night. With this injury I've needed extra rest, and while I may not be asleep, I do try to stay in bed and relax for the full 8 hours.
Regardless of how little sleep I need, I still have problems getting there. I am one of many people who suffers from an asshole brain. I can't resolve complex issues, make plans, or create great ideas unless I'm in bed trying to go to sleep.I have the most energy, it seems, right before I hit the hay. These factors contribute greatly to what many Facebook friends call the "late-night Anna show."
This is the time when I write some of my more popular blog posts, statuses, and recipes.
It's when I find and share gems like this:
You're welcome.
You've just described my sleep habits, mostly. I'm getting better, but that falling asleep thing was horrible for many years.
