George and Meredith.
Horizontal polka.
First of all I just never saw that coming. The whole story up to this point makes it incredibly clear how very platonic Meredith feels towards George, and I didn't take her to be the kind of person to use him like that. Is it a testament to her numbness, or maybe desperation to feel wanted? Either way I definitely put her in the wrong this time around. She knew what she was doing, and was too selfish to just let him go.
Everything about that final reveal scene was just horrifying; it felt so much like rape with the code red level of discomfort and remorse the two of them experience. The
crying is really what put me over the top, coupled with George's
(albeit not unwarranted) anger at the situation in front of him. I actually had to get up and take a walk after that ending.
On a less icky note, I think Addison's ordeal with poison oak was absolutely hilarious.
