There's something that I know most Californians appreciate more in the summer, but I love more in winter - Climate Control. In any season that shit can get expensive, but God does it feel good.
Husband and I sit on opposite ends of the temperature scale when it comes to comfort. The first couple years of living together were tough, because we were battling over the thermostat year-round.
I kept complaining the A/C was too cold...
...Husband kept complaining the heater was too hot.
We finally made some compromises by agreeing on tolerable (read - affordable) temperatures at each end of the weather, and adjusting the rooms we work in for our comfort with fans or blankets.

In all that griping, sometimes we have to take a step back and realize how lucky we are that we even have that kind of control over the temperature and our comfort.
It's pretty awesome that the majority of our issues with the weather can be adjusted with the push of a button and twist of a dial. I mean really, how cool and futuristic is that?!

As it gets colder out, I plan to come back to this, and you should too, to remember just how not crappy it is in here.
Here in MN, according to the weather forecast I just watched:
ReplyDeleteToday = 40ish. Friday = 30ish Saturday = 20 and lower. Apparently we'll wake up Sunday morning to single digit temps.
Sigh. But, you're right, it could be worse.
Oh man, I'm so much less frozen now knowing you're up north. Lots of snuggles to be had on your end of the country!!
