Mo' Coupons, Mo' Problems

You know what makes everybody happy?
Saving money.

I have never met a person with a dour attitude, frowning as the total at their register dwindles after coupons or discounts.

One of my favorite resources for accomplishing this is an incredible website.

It's a great central resource to help you know when to stack sales and coupons for the best savings on everyday items, and special ones too. I've only followed it this year, so I'm still learning about how they handle holidays, but thus far they have helped me save a ton of money and afford extra goodies.

Now with that in mind, there is such a thing as too far.

I got a little obsessed myself at one point, and Facebook heard all about it. The word vomit was insatiable, spreading around sales and savings all day, every day. Most people ignored it, but my closer friends brought on the jokes.

Eventually, one of my cousins referred me to Extreme Couponers. She and I enjoy reality shows in the way many of us do; voyeurism, and to feel better about ourselves.

First of all, that shit is so dramatic, it makes my trips to Target look mundane. Second, I seriously doubt even couponing as a full time job would yield that much in savings and free items. I imagine that's why they investigated and found illegal xeroxing and fraud in these shows.

That kind of shitty behavior makes it difficult for the rest of us trying to save a buck, because then the stores have to make stricter policies as prevention. I got the shakedown at Stater Brothers last week, and it was so God-awful, I've vowed to never go there again. Their prices suck anyway.

Luckily, as I've bragged before, Target is pretty awesome all around. They have a pretty straightforward coupon policy, and every cashier I've had has been super nice and patient.

Not to mention, they have the super awesome Cartwheel app, which is still in Beta and usually only saves 5%, but has already saved me $70 this year.

So thank you, manufacturers, and thank you, Target, for making ways to help me save dollars.

    1. I like sharing really good sales, but the organized couponing wore me down after a while. I might pick it up now that my routine is more stable again.

Glad to hear someone liked it!!
