My Soulmate

There's this girl that I know, who pretty much completes me, although I'd never admit that to our men.

I've always thought the idea of soulmates was pretty unrealistic, and then I took a good hard look at one special friendship.

It was another one of those moments in which I was blabbing, joking with her boyfriend about protecting her.

I realized, she really does complete me! She is my Other Half.

She's My Coz!!

Her normal people name is Katie, and if you don't know her, you should. I hardly ever shut up about her in this blog. She's probably on par with Husband for mentions.

Remember how Mom always had us in pairs? I never had a girl half in my pair, which is where my cousin came in.

Our dads are brothers, and all four of our parents grew up together as friends. Because of this, we pretty much grew up living together until high school.

Awesome.

I imagine our relationship is the closest you can get to twins, without having actually been born that way.

We did everything together, and our almost opposite natures made us fit like puzzle pieces. Her quieter, pleasant ways balance out my loud, obnoxious ass.

We've learned a lot from each other. Katie is an incredibly compassionate, caring person, who opened my eyes to the humanity in everyone.

And I, being Miss Bossypants, showed her how to kick down doors and run the room.

When I was in doubt about the future of our relationship, she was there to drive home how great Husband and I are together. She's always liked him, and he loves her too.

Having Katie in my life has been a great, great blessing. I don't want to get too sappy, or put all of our history out there and embarrass her, but seriously people, seriously.
