We Don't Need No Water! ...Okay, Yeah We Do.

Again, I'm going to complain about the chill in the air.
It's only 63F here, and my extended family up north are all laughing at me.

US: Current Temperatures

Props to anyone who can stand places like my sister's current duty station in Alaska.
I just ain't about that.

September snow? No thanks.

In the weak-ass chilliness of Southern California,
I have become increasingly grateful for hot water.

It just feels so good.
Not only in the shower, but also when Washing Dishes,
or heating up some tea.

Heated water is one of those things we tend to take for granted, especially if we have to go without it for a period.

Diagnosing Water Heater Problems
Husband just stepped in, asking what I was blogging today.
When I told him "heated water," he laughed at first, then recalled the week our heater went out.

It was terrible, since our house really only has shower stalls,
so even boiling some water and throwing it in a bath wouldn't suffice.

I want to know which major contractor decided those builder-grade shower/tub combination bathtubs were big enough for a grown adult to actually get clean in.

Idiots.
Short-sighted idiots.

Someday we'll move to a nicer home that has a deep-soaking tub,in which I can obscure all my no-touch zones with bubble foam.
*sigh*

Until then, I maintain my joy for steamy, hot showers.

  1. I stayed at a B&B a couple of years ago where I had my first REALLY good bath. It was an old building, so the big, claw-footed tub was enamel over solid cast iron. Oh. My. God. The hot water stayed hot forever. I don't know how anyone ever got out of the tub in the old days.
