Day One: Ancient Technologies

The first day of our excursion was really not all that impressive. We were making our way towards Tombstone, and doing whatever we could to silly up the drive and potty stops.

We did not, in fact, see any roadrunners. However, we came across some ancient technology, complete with cliched spider webs and dust!

After mocking a handful of rest stops and their antiquated ways, we proceeded onward until I saw a Coca-Cola sign and almost wrecked the car trying to get to it.

"What is this place?!"
"I wonder if they do tours here..."

They did not.

It was a distribution center, and although the adorable receptionist offered to show me millions of crates of product as well as some of their shipping trucks, I declined.

This here monstrosity was in their lobby, which I was kindly welcomed to explore at my leisure and photograph. That there is one of the original bottling contraptions. I asked her if I could try the cap press, but the machine had been tightened in order not to move, so as to preserve the integrity longer.

And then...
More driving.

We finally called it a day when we reached the lovely developing town of Casa Grande. We didn't check much out, but we did meet an incredible waitress named Kayla at the Ihop we did dinner at. She and I had a ridiculously good time gabbing about the area and how it was on the up and up, as well as her Shakespearean relationship with a waiter at Denny's.

It was a good day.

More to come, next weekend!!
