For starters, I am a lot better at communication through writing than I give myself credit for.
I used to think I was a terrible writer before, since I could never just sit down with a pen or keyboard and make things up. It turns out I just need a general direction to start with, and I can easily springboard from there.
I think that's a big reason these NaBloPoMo prompts work so well. The majority of the time I have a specific subject to write on, which also helps me weed out what actually matters to me, since I don't have to force a topic everyday. Then by the weekend, if I've had something on my mind, I can dedicated my time to expressing that issue the way I want.
It's been a win-win for you nice people, it would seem, since I can turn almost anything into entertainment.
The other thing I've increasingly learned through experience is that not only are people vastly different behind the privacy of their screen, but we all actually have a lot more in common than we let on publicly.
It's jarring to discover I am not as unusual as I thought, but comforting to know not only do I have kindred spirits, but this page is helping bring us all together.
